Segment Ideas

Ideas for possible segments on our podcast
  1. Introduction

For our first segment idea, we plan to introduce the guest we will have on the podcast, whether they may be a rapper or a producer. Introducing our guest will give our viewers a brief description of who we are about to interview.

We will mention basic information about a person such as their name, how old they are, where they were born, etc. We will discuss their best work, as well as the producers or artists they’ve worked with that our audience might know.

We believe that informing our audience of the basic information of our guest before the interview will save time, therefore having more room during the interview for their opinions and answers on the questions we have ready.

  1. Small clip/snippet of their best work

Our next segment idea will contain either a small clip/snippet of their best work or a teaser/sneak peek of upcoming projects they have.

After playing a snippet, we will ask questions regarding the new record, such as who rapped on it/produced it, why they think it’s their best work, and who some of their influences were when they were  making the record.

A small clip/snippet is a great way to advertise an artist’s new record, as well as communicate the artist’s ideas and influences behind. It is also great insight on what they think is their best work and why.

  1. Deconstructed.

Our last and final idea for a segment is what we’d call a deconstruction. Our guest will be asked to deconstruct a song of their choice, explaining to us the deeper meaning behind their lyrics, or their influence.

Depending on who the guest is they will either be asked to break down one of their lyrics or one of their beats. Doing so will allow them to explain their thought process while making the song, as well as give the audience some tips when producing or rapping.

Our deconstruction segment will give great insight into an artist or producer’s process in making their music, and will also give our viewers inspiration the next time they try to rap or make beats.
