Sound is an important aspect of the viewer’s understanding and how they perceive the content being shown to themselves.
DOTmp3 have compiled a list of sounds we plan to add to our podcast to give our listeners a better experience and to help capture the feeling/mood we want our listeners to feel.
All of the sound or music we will be using on our podcast will be tuned to 432 hz as it is believed to be the natural frequency of the universe, to have cosmic healing powers, and to attract masses of audience.
Most of the sounds mentioned in our list are going to be used when we are discussing about the topic that fits that specific sound. Doing so will give our listeners a better understanding of the topic being discussed.

Our List of Sounds

Wide Synthesizers – wide large chords using sine wave synths can be used to set a calm and pleasant mood for our listeners, mainly in the intros and outros to settle down.
Trap Bells – bells make up the melodies for most of the trap bangers nowadays, trap bells can set the vibe for our Hip-hop listeners.
Distorted Synth Bass – when things start to tense up, a low but slightly distorted synth bass under our warm voices can set a dark mood.
Hip-Hop Bass (808) – just like trap bells 808s are even more commonly found in Hip-Hop and can be used out of nowhere to give our podcast dramatic effect.
Vinyl Crackle – vinyl crackle can give our podcast a vintage lo-fi feel you may hear on older audio recordings, fake vinyl crackle will be used so we’re able to control the volume levels and avoid our viewers being distracted by it.
Dissonant Chords – a dissonant chord at the perfect time in our podcast can be chilling and give our viewers a feeling of unease.
Percussion – whether they’re live or produced on a machine, perc instruments can be used in a variety of ways such as a cymbal crashing to transition between segments or even a drum roll on a snare to create suspense.
Rain – the ambience rain can provide in our podcast is great combined with all the other sounds we will be using, and can give our viewers a sense of what it’s like in Vancouver.
Live Concert Recordings – the sounds of an artist’s live concerts such as the crowd’s chanting or even the artist screaming can give our viewers a taste of what their music is like. It also can serve a contrast of what they are like on stage versus when they are being interviewed on a podcast. These can be taken from previous live concerts
Drum Fills – drum fills can help transition our podcast through our segments and are a great addition to any music podcast.
