Tune in to our podcast biweekly.

Pitch

Are you currently aware of what is going on behind-the-scenes in the music industry? The chances are you don’t and that’s why we’ve decided we are going to make a podcast solely based on discussing topics of what is currently happening in the music industry, as well as the behind-the-scenes scoop which may have contributed greatly to an artist’s success.

Think of who your favourite music artist is. Is it Bryson Tiller? Travis Scott? Post Malone? Logic, Tory Lanez, or Chance the Rapper? Even if they weren’t your favourite, you’ve most likely heard of them before due to the amount of success they have, I mean, you’ve definitely heard of their songs on the radio before (unless you live under a rock of course). But do you ever stop and wonder what road they took to reach the fame and success they currently have?

It may come as a surprise, but the artists I’ve mentioned above had their success handed to them on a plastic platter by their label (the plastic platter being the contract they’ve signed their soul to). Well, so what if they had their success handed to them by their label? They are rich and famous at the end of the day, right? I mean, that’s the only reason why someone would want to be an artist after all. Obviously, their richness and their success comes at a cost (hint: the artists themselves have said it, you are happier than them).

shelving — when a record label does not release music against the artist’s will

So the thing that we want you to know about our podcast is the fact of what’s happening behind the scenes of music also what happens in the music industry, for example an artist had gotten a platinum hit on a song, but the producer didn’t get paid. We want to change your perspectives about artists, and them wanting to be famous because most artists are not happy with their lives and how they were most likely more happier than we are even with their fame and money.

The podcast is going to be based on “music in general and current events in the music industry.” The point is that we want to tell you how music is used in a general way and how music can get tied with current events in the music industry. In the podcast we do not give our own opinions since we are a small podcast and not biased towards a certain topic, instead we talk about factual information that can be backed up with more secure information.

Some things that are special and unique about our podcast is that no other podcaster is talking about the music industry and that no one is talking about current events that are happening in music since music is a thing that pretty much everyone listens to, but people don’t care to talk about.

This podcast matters because of the rising growth of controversy in the music industry, mainly in Hip-hop. There are new conflicts and controversial topics flying around, and we feel there are not enough music news coverage pages that really delve deep into these headlines.

We are here to cover the news for you in the most honest and open-minded way. Most of the topics can get more controversial than the next, with topics like Industry Plants to Record Labels taking advantage of their artists and producers, so we will offer our unbiased information from reliable sources and always keep an open mind when covering the topics

One thing that separates us from the regular music news podcast is that we are only teenagers, and unlike many of the current music pages covering news, we were born into the new music scene with open minded views on the matters as well as some fair knowledge of older music and artists. Our podcast will try to stay as informative as possible covering different views from different artists as well as potential guests who are just as passionate about music as we are.

The DOTmp3 podcast hopes to open your eyes to what’s happening behind the microphones of the many music artists of today and the music industry as a whole. Thank you for reading.

weekend vibes.
